If You Value Your Freedom Of Speech

The United States should “take the necessary measures to ensure insulting billions of people – one and a half billion people – and their beliefs does not happen, and people pay for what they do, and at the same time make sure that the reflections of the true Egyptian and Muslims is well [represented] in Western media,”.  So stated Egypt’s Prime Minister Hisham Qandil on Sept. 15.  Qandil’s statement also hinted at more violence if the Islamists’ demands were not met.

In case you need a translation, he is stating the Islamic demand that the U.S. should cave to their pressure and throw our constitution out the window, specifically our First Amendment rights concerning free speech.

So … let’s back up a bit and look at some of the history leading up to that demand.  At the very least, I urge you to view the following video.  If you are pressed for time, at least view the 23 minute 30 second portion which starts at 12:44 [that's 12 minutes 44 seconds into the video] by using the slider in the video to position to that point.

Is the U. N. Really In Our Best Interest?

Increasingly, evidence is coming to light that it is not. Just a few days ago I posted a piece to Doggone Blog about a U.N. program known as LOST. Now another comes to light known as Agenda 21. In both cases the elitists are quietly advancing their plans to redistribute your income, take away your rights, and our nation’s sovereignty.

In a nutshell, Agenda 21 calls for governments to take control of all land use and not leave any of the decision making in the hands of private property owners. It is assumed that people are not good stewards of their land and the government will do a better job if they are in control. Individual rights in general are to give way to the needs of communities as determined by the governing body. Moreover, people should be rounded up off the land and packed into human settlements, or islands of human habitation, close to employment centers and transportation. Another program, called the Wildlands Project spells out how most of the land is to be set aside for non-humans.



Sound familiar?

President Reagan articulated his view of LOST long before he entered the Oval Office, its fatal flaw was as great as it was simple: LOST poses a direct threat to American sovereignty. In a 1978 radio address titled "Ocean Mining," he asserted that "no national interest of ours could justify handing sovereign control of two-thirds of the Earth's surface over to the Third World." He added: "No one has ruled out the idea of a [Law of the Sea] treaty — one which makes sense — but after long years of fruitless negotiating, it became apparent that the underdeveloped nations who now control the General Assembly were looking for a free ride at our expense, again."

It's time that people educate themselves and read the documents and related commentary about both U.N efforts. Unfortunately, their policies have advanced largely unnoticed and we are now in the end game. People need to identify the elected officials who are promoting the U.N.'s policies and hold them accountable for their actions. Only when we've identified who the people are and what they are trying to do will we be able to evaluate whether or not we approve of the policies they are putting forward. Some people may think it's appropriate for agencies outside the United States to set our policies and some people will not. The question is, aren't Americans able to develop their own policies? Should we rely on an organization that consists of member nations that have different forms of governments with agendas not in the best interests of the United States and its citizens? It's time to bring U.N. Agenda 21 and LOST out in the open where we can have these debates and then set our own policies in accordance with our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Sovereignty: Even if he's not re-elected, the president hopes to leave behind a treaty giving a U.N. body veto power over the use of our territorial waters and to which we'd be required to give half of our offshore oil revenue.

Like its Kyoto cousin, LOST is an attempt at the global redistribution of power and wealth, the embodiment of the progressive dream of the end of the nation state as we know it and the end of political freedom by giving veto over all of mankind's activities to a global body — in this case something called the International Seabed Authority, located in Kingston, Jamaica.

With Al Franken replacing Norm Coleman, Senate Democrats have another vote for the U.N.’s Law of the Sea Treaty, and there are strong indications that they intend to bring this controversial document up for a vote within days or weeks. Those who favor the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) believe that U.S. security lies in passing a treaty and hiring more lawyers to defend America before an international tribunal, rather than building more ships for the Navy and Coast Guard.

We may be losing jobs in our domestic economy, but opportunities are endless in the field of international law. Passage of UNCLOS would open up some well-paying jobs in the U.N.’s International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

However, the largely untold story is that of corruption in the international organizations that implement and monitor these treaties. For example, the International Seabed Authority in Jamaica, another of the Law of the Sea Treaty organizations, has been racked by corruption charges. Yet, the Senate has never held a hearing into these charges.

So … explain to me why the citizens of this nation should tolerate, for even a minute, any attempt by any elected representative of this country to subvert the sovereignty of this county to the United Nations, the corrupt International Seabed Authority or any other multiculturalist organization embraced and advanced by such socialist elitists as John Kerry, Al Gore, Elisabeth Mann Borgese [deceased architect of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea] or Barak Obama.

For that matter, why do we, as a nation, tolerate the lies, distortions and cover-ups of deliberations such as this by the left-leaning news media?
